Enjoy my view is a set of interventions and experiments in urban objects that offer an opportunity for new views and new experiences in the city. The project reflects on the current urban computing environment through a process of researching and designing three interventions, experiments.

 

 

Babel Tree

Babel Tree is a network of physical objects that promote interaction between humans, spaces and nature.
A network that require the collective participation/action of people to become alive, encouraging social interaction and a sense of community in urban spaces.

 

 

Devices for Altering Aural Perceptions

A set of devices designed to change the way the user perceives sonic environments and the city. A exploration/research in human perception. How could that perception be augmented or translated to offer us a different experience, sense “of reality”. What if we could experience the city from a (non-human) animal perspective? Can we experience/sense the city as they do?

Jealous Furniture
ITP Projects - Network Objects. Spring 2008

 

Playing with the Real versus Virtual, Jealous Furniture criticize the time we spent nowadays in front of a computer, connected to the “Virtual World” instead of enjoying the pleasure of “reality”. Two objects, a lamp and a bookshelf, adapted ” jealous” behaviors, calling or attention or disturbing you.

 

 

Solar Chandelier
ITP Projects - Sustainable Energy. Spring 2008

A kinetic mobile made of up of several independent light seeking, energy gathering BEAM robots. Each segment/robot of the chandelier will rely upon sensor input to move into an optimal position for gathering solar energy. The solar chandelier provides a dynamic visualization of the normally static process of gathering solar energy.

A device that enriches the experience of visiting a museum and at the same time encourages social interactions by giving museum visitors the possibility of connecting with other visitors that have similar experiences.

 

 

GlowBall

An interactive public art sculpture that needs simultaneous human voice input to “live”. Works as communication device and it aims
to encourage social interaction in public spaces.

 

 

Sol Soduku
Freelance Work. Sept 2007

 

A interactive soduku game/application based on Sol Lewitt’s mixture of conceptualism and the abstract grid. A collaboration with video artist 99Hooker. Sol Sudoku offers the viewer the chance to create their own mesmerizing and beautiful “video quilts” as they play the game, adding their own musical background.
